Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused individual to take on a dual role within our team: Hire Desk Controller and Small Tools Driver. This position combines office-based administrative responsibilities with hands-on logistics and delivery work, offering variety and the chance to work in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As Hire Desk Controller:

• Handle incoming customer enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Process hires and off-hire requests efficiently and accurately.
• Liaise with the workshop to ensure equipment is available and ready for delivery.
• Maintain accurate hire records and use internal hire software to manage orders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Support the operations team in scheduling deliveries and collections.

As Small Tools Driver:

• Deliver and collect small tools and equipment to and from customer sites safely and on time.
• Load and unload equipment, ensuring it is secured and in good condition.
• Carry out basic checks and report any issues with tools or vehicles.
• Always represent the company professionally when on-site with customers.
• Maintain delivery logs and documentation as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a hire desk or customer service role preferred.
• Clean UK driving licence (Category B) essential.
• Knowledge of small tools and plant equipment an advantage.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Basic computer literacy (training on hire software provided).
• Physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying equipment.
